Basic English Grammar. A web linked university course is a course designed specially for students of English in higher education. It is not a grammar book per se, with paragraphs and rules, but a course focusing on elements of English grammar that are important for Swedish speakers. There are also paragraph references to Svartvik and Sager’s Engelsk universitetsgrammatik. It can thus be compared to a lecture series rather than a textbook and is equally suitable for the classroom and for self-study. Each chapter consists of explanatory text with integrated exercises. The exercises and keys are presented in an innovative fashion on the book’s home page, together with many links to relevant language pages, online dictionaries and grammars, and electronic corpora, all of which promote inductive learning.
