In a period characterized by the gradual increase in life expectancy thanks to the availability of appropriate drug therapies for the treatment of many chronic diseases, it becomes essential to know how to properly handle the dosing regimens of drugs in relation to the patient's comorbidities and polytherapies. In this regard, knowledge of the principles of the pharmacokinetics can be of paramount relevance for the correct application of the valuable Hippocratic precept "primum non nocere"--First, do no harm. Pharmacokinetics is often considered as a specialized science whose application is essentially based on mathematical models and reserved for insiders only. The goal of this book is to make the principles of pharmacokinetics easier to understand, thus helping clinicians in the appropriate management of drug therapy in daily practice.
