The internationalization of the world economy and the economic political development in Europe has fostered interests in the common economic heritage of European countries. This tale of the economic history of West European countries through 500 years is divided into two parts. The first part covers the period until 1945 and highlights the historic developments that have left their mark on modern Europe. The second part covers the years after World War II and highlights the development of economic growth, international economic cooperation and in particular the integration process in Europe.
