Censured and ultimately banned by the Freud Institute in Vienna, this lecture was eventually delivered by Edward Said at the Freud Museum in London. In it, he drew on sources from literature, archaeology, and social theory to examine the profound significance that "Moses and Monotheism," Sigmund Freud's last major work, could have had on contemporary politics in the Middle East. Said argues that Freud's contention that Moses was not Jewish torpedoes the notion of a "pure" identity--and that the case for a common, singular culture in the Levant that could be made as a result could play an important role in clearing a path to peace. "Censurada y finalmente prohibida por el Instituto Freud de Viena, esta conferencia fue ultimamente pronunciada por Edward Said en el Museo Freud de Londres.
