Since then, over 200 lighthouses and fog bells have helped ships find their way to harbours or navigate along the coast of Norway. The lighthouse has always had a mysterious attraction for people; more so in the past few decades. This reference book reveals part of the history of Norwegian lighthouses. It explains the etymology, setting and cultural history of these lighthouses. There is also a brief history for each of them.
