The different stories in this novel are punctuated by choruses, some humorous, most of them tragic, which lend their voice to the voiceless: young beggars, raped daughters, orphans, dealers, and hard core gangs among others it is the narrative polyphony of the conflicts of emporary Mexico and the world.
