Construction of History. Jubilee Speech Sermon Protestant Historiography] The manner in which the memory of the Reformation is presented and the history of the Reformation is constructed, is up to this day a reflection of the -spirit of the times-. An anniversary is not only a means to pass on tradition but also a means to reshape it: as affirmation of one s own history, as future-oriented approach or as a counter-balance to the present age. And this also applies to Protestant scientific historiography. The volume is divided into the sections -Confessional Age-, -Enlightenment and Pietism-, and -Modernity-; its 16 contributions range from issues such as -Reformation as Revolution of Memory- to the -the Protestant Revolution of 1989-. In der Art, wie Reformationsgedenken inszeniert und Reformationsgeschichte konstruiert werden, spiegelt sich bis heute der -Geist der Zeiten-. Im Jubilaum wird Historisches nicht nur tradiert, sondern in Reden und Predigten zugleich neu geformt: als affirmative Eigengeschichte, zukunftsoffen oder als Widerlager zur Gegenwart. Auch die protestantische wissenschaftliche Historiographie hat daran teil. Der in die Abschnitte Konfessionelles Zeitalter, Aufklarung und Pietismus sowie Moderne gegliederte Band bietet mit 16 Beitragen von der -Reformation als Erinnerungsrevolution- bis zur -Protestantischen Revolution 1989- das Ergebnis einer Tagung 2009 am Erinnerungsort Wittenberg.
