English summary: Who should look after the soul: the pastor or the doctor? What interdisciplinary opportunities and risks lie in palliative and spiritual care? The contributions of a conference held by the department of pastoral care at the theological faculty of Bern in cooperation with the Inselspital Bern and the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches in April 2013 illustrate the different perspectives of medicine and theology. A definition of the terms palliative care, spiritual care and spirituality and an overview of the current state of research is followed by contributions on medical ethics and pastoral care. 'Ethics and Spiritual Care' and 'Pastoral and Spiritual Care' represent two precisely defined theological positions, which are opposed by a medical one in 'Spiritual Care: A task for the doctor', which is no less precise. A contribution reflecting on the interdisciplinary opportunities and difficulties of palliative and spiritual care concludes the volume. German description: Wer ist fur die Seele zustandig: Seelsorgerin oder Arzt? Was sind interdisziplinare Chancen und Risiken von Palliative und Spiritual Care? Die Beitrage einer Tagung der Abteilung Seelsorge der Theologischen Fakultat Bern in Verbindung mit dem Inselspital Bern und dem Schweizerischen Evangelischen Kirchenbund vom April 2013 beleuchten verschiedene Positionen aus Medizin und Theologie. Einer Klarung der Begriffe Palliative Care, Spiritual Care und Spiritualitat und einer Ubersicht uber den aktuellen Forschungsstand folgen Beitrage zu Medizinethik und Seelsorge. Mit 'Ethik und Spiritual Care' und 'Seelsorge und Spiritual Care' kommen zwei pointierte theologische Positionen zu Wort, denen mit 'Spiritual Care: Eine Aufgabe fur den Arzt' eine ebenso pragnante medizinische gegenubersteht. Zum Schluss reflektiert ein Beitrag die interdisziplinaren Moglichkeiten und Schwierigkeiten von Palliative und Spiritual Care.
