The FW190 is considered by many enthusiasts to be the best German fighter plane of World War Two. Powerful and agile, compact and versatile, more than 20,000 of them were constructed. Flown by German aces on the Eastern front, in the Normandy campaign and in the defense of Germany, they proved to be a real problem to the Allied air forces, including to the much-vaunted Spitfire. This is the ninth volume in a new series of books from "Histoire & Collections: Planes & Pilots". The books are devoted in detail to the most prestigious warbirds from and since the Second World War, each featuring over 200 colour illustrations, including aircraft profiles, camouflage and markings, maps and diagrams, plus a lot of previously unpublished archive photographs.
