Milton H. Erickson, M.D. was the leading medical hypnotist of his time and is generally considered one of the leading innovators in the field of directive, strategic therapy. In the mid 1950s, these recordings took place as part of Gregory Bateson's research project on communication and others took place when Jay Haley consulted with Dr. Erickson about therapy.
