Author's Note: The purpose of this book is to help people who are struggling, perhaps with depression, as I was for years. I hope that sharing my story will help others create their own solutions. Inside, you will find my keys to removing depression from my life and how I learned to create my emotional equilibrium. For much of my life, I was told I was too sensitive and that I should just toughen up. Well, that doesn't work for a person like me who is empathetic, highly aware and deeply affected by my environment and the people around me. These characteristics are valuable and must be protected. By finally understanding my personality characteristics, I was able to adapt my life to them. I created a way of life that keeps my sensitivities from overwhelming me and sending me into depression.
