This book aims to provide a complete manual to the knightly arts. It compiles and provides facing translations of a wide array of fifteenth century German texts such as Tallhofer, Lignitzer and many others as well as poetry, illustrations from contemporary martial arts manuals, and surviving examples of equipment. It takes the reader through the permissable causes for duelling and the laws of chivalry which surrounded the duel, before presenting the kind of practical advice then available on techniques such as half-swording, dagger fighting, unarmoured fighting, and advice on training.
