The difference between the witch and the layperson is that a witch already knows they are powerful. The layperson may only suspect. Becoming Dangerous collects the deeply personal essays of twenty-one authors as they delve into the rituals they use to bring themselves power in a world that prefers them powerless. These are their rituals to resist and survive self-doubt, grief, depression as well as slut-shaming, patriarchy, ableism, racism, and other systems of oppression. Some of these writers identify as witches while others as artists, engineers, columnists, comic book writers, fashionistas, performers, and video game designers. Their essays are personal explorations about how and why rituals of resistance work for them. They also offer an invitation to discover the power of ritual in our own lives.
