Before there was Beowulf; before there was King Arthur; before there were Odysseus or Perseus, there was Gilgamesh. Part God, Part Man, and destined from birth to be the ruler of Sumeria, Gilgamesh: The Sumerian King is the first in a trilogy of books that details the exploits and adventures of the oldest epic ever written by man. Gilgamesh is a powerful, but cruel ruler of Sumeria. The people of Sumeria cry out to the Gods for relief, and the Gods send a challenger, in the form of a powerful wild man of the forest. Now Gilgamesh, already faced with the impending battles from the Assyrian and Egyptian armies, must face his greatest adversary of all in the Wild Man, and along the way, learn humility and compassion as he leads his people to become the most powerful nation in the world.
