I live in El Carmen, the old town, and I decided to write this short book about eating in El Carmen, and the peculiarities of eating in Spain. Twenty local restaurants that my friends and I like. Simple workmen's places with nice locations, and places where they serve modern food, and classic places, a nice mix. We are talking about the 10 to 20 euro restaurants here. First, the peculiarities of eating in Spain. The Siesta system, the "e;paella system"e;, all about ham, wine and other important drinks, and the menu del dia. Then a list of common dishes. Following is a list of restaurants where you can go and experience good food. With phone numbers, opening times, a clear map, a link to Google maps so you can use your smartphone to find these places easily, and a short description of what to expect. In the print version there is also QR code as well as link to Google Maps, so you can scan with your mobile directly to Google maps. Last, a list of Spanish food terms.
