This work looks at studio arts from woodworking, ceramics and glass to jewellery, metalworking and textiles, and discusses the factors that have shaped their development. These range from philosophical considerations such as ethnicity, tradition and Post-Modernism to practicalities such as the development of new techniques and equipment.
