A celebration of the beauty and longevity of one of the greatest tree collections in the world - Westonbirt Arboretum - this is the first illustrated book on Westonbirt for nearly twenty years. The National Arboretum at Westonbirt is one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world. An historical collection of over 3,000 different trees and shrub species, many of which are rare or endangered in their native lands, it covers some 600 acres. Classified as a Grade-I listed landscape, the layout preserves the nineteenth century design by W.S. Gilpin in the picturesque style.
