This book offers both practical and theoretical approach to Solvent Microextraction. It will help Analytical Chemists evaluate whether SME is an appropriate method to use for a given sample preparation, and if so, how to use it. The three authors are pioneering SME experts and instructors who blend their laboratory experience with pedagogical experience to create a book that is both a handy desk-reference in the laboratory as well as an in disposable instructional tool. Introductory chapters give a brief overview of Sample Preparation and the various tools and machinery used in SME, before moving on to theory in Kinetics and Thermodynamics. The book then moves on to describe practical methods, offering a detailed "how to" on SME when dealing with: gaseous samples, liquid samples, solid samples, environmental, and food and pharmaceutical among others.
