Dr. Karen Horney is universally recognized as a major figure in the field of psychoanalysis. As an analyst and research clinician, she made original and significant modifications of Freudian theory. As a teacher and a widely read author, she helped shape the course of twentieth-century psychoanalytic thought and investigation. This volume brings together for the first time in book form selections from Dr. Horney's later writings, including her classic essay, "The Value of Vindictiveness," and three lectures on psychoanalytic technique.
