Finding the Picture, the latest in Argentum's Masterclass series, tackles more of the fundamental questions of creative photography that were left uncovered by its predecessors, Developing Vision and Style and Working the Light. In Finding the Picture, Phil Maplas and Clive Minnitt deal with two of the most fundamental questions in Location Photography - 'What should I photograph?' and 'How should I tackle it?' These may seem obvious questions but many photographers, no matter how experienced, can suffer the photographic equivalent of writer's block: they either lack the inspiration for a subject or are unable to see how to capture their chosen subject successfully. As a remedy to this, the authors offer clear and practical advice on the steps photographers can take to release their creativity and find and take a successful image. They tackle a wide range of themes including photographic styles, sources of inspiration, seeing versus looking, simplifying photographs and experimentation.
